Error codes can vary slightly by model year. What's below is what a code most commonly means on GE Appliances appliances — if your display shows something different, text us a photo and we'll tell you straight.
F2 — Ranges
Oven temperature sensor or overheat fault detected by the control board.
Common causes
- The oven temperature sensor is reading out of range
- A control board fault
This one's a call
This is an electrical/control-board fault inside the appliance, not something to keep resetting — turn the oven off at the breaker and call.

Door/lid error — the machine doesn't detect the door as closed and locked.
Common causes
- The door isn't fully closed
- A door lock mechanism fault
