LG
Error codes can vary slightly by model year. What's below is what a code most commonly means on LG appliances — if your display shows something different, text us a photo and we'll tell you straight.
IE — Washers
Water inlet error — the washer isn't filling with water within the expected time.
Common causes
- A water supply valve behind the machine isn't fully open
- A fill hose is kinked or pinched
- Low household water pressure
- The small filter screens where the hoses connect to the machine are clogged with sediment
What you can check
Check that both hot and cold supply valves are turned fully on, straighten any kinks in the fill hoses, and check the filter screens at the hose connections.

Drain error — the washer isn't draining water within the expected time.
Common causes
- The drain pump filter is clogged
- The drain hose is kinked, clogged, or looped too high
- A partial blockage in the household drain line
What you can check
Check the drain hose for kinks and make sure it isn't pushed in further than it should be or looped above the rim of the machine.

Door error — the door isn't detected as fully closed and locked.
Common causes
- The door isn't latched all the way
- Something is caught in the rubber door seal
- A door latch or lock fault
What you can check
Open and firmly close the door, and check that nothing — a sock, a coin, a stray zipper — is caught in the door seal.

Motor error — commonly triggered by an overloaded or badly unbalanced load, occasionally a drive-motor fault.
Common causes
- The load is too large or bunched on one side
- A drive motor or wiring fault
This one's a call
Reduce the load size, redistribute items evenly around the drum, and try again. If it keeps happening with a normal-sized, balanced load, that's a call.
